What is a SGAE streaming license?
The SGAE (General Society of Authors and Editors) is the collective management entity that manages the copyright of composers, lawyers and musical editors in Spain. When an online radio, streaming platform or business disseminates copyright-protected music, it needs authorization from those who hold these rights. As it is not possible to ask individual permission from each author, the SGAE offers licences that facilitate the legal use of the works of its repertoire, including also international authors represented by reciprocity agreements with other management entities.
