Advantages of listening to DABModern Radio on the DAB + day
Jazz without labels. Sound from now on.
DABModern Radio comes through the DAB + radio, the digital radio standard that gradually replaces FM throughout Europe. These are the key advantages that stand out:
High sound quality
The DAB + radio offers digital audio without interference, background noise or typical signal losses from the analogue FM radio, especially relevant for a format such as the DABModern radio: Jazz, soul, funk, neo-soul and broken beat— where the timbric detail and the dynamics of sound matter.
More content, same dial
A single multiple DAB + allows to accommodate many more stations than the FM radio spectrum, which has opened up space for specialized music projects such as DABModern radio that on traditional FM would hardly have a license or frequency available.
On-screen enriched information
The DAB + radio shows just as on the web on the receiver the name of the song, the artist and other metadata in real time —ideal for listeners to discover new jazz and soul artists without having to search «What's ringing?».
Frequency-free coverage
Unlike FM radio, where you have to resonate when moving between areas, the DAB + radio organizes the stations by multiple regional and SFN repeaters, facilitating a more stable reception.
Energy efficiency and lower transmission cost
DAB + digital radio allows for less power transmission than FM radio for equivalent coverage, which also benefits the long-term sustainability of the project.
Available beyond dial
DABModern Radio does not depend only on a DAB + receiver: as it already does with DABClassic Radio, we can offer simultaneous access via app, streaming web and other platforms, extending the reach to those who do not yet have digital receiver.
A space to rediscover current jazz and modern music
In front of the generic offer of commercial FM radio, DABModern Radio presents a curatorship specialized in contemporary jazz, soul and funk. A niche with a faithful and growing audience, and a solid argument for sponsors.
